Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a pirate SNES hack of Sparkster made by Twin Eagles Group, a Peruvian scene group that were also responsible for the SNES hack Sonic the Hedgehog (also known as Sonic the Hedgehog 4). It was released in May 1998.

An original cartridge of the hack has not yet been found nor dumped, though “Mr. Byte”, founder of Twin Eagles Group, confirmed that it did in fact release. The original master ROM is lost as well, as when “Mr. Byte” was contacted in the early 2010s, they were not able to find it in their own archives. Despite this, they were able to provide Sonic’s graphics for the hack in an ILBM (Amiga format) file. Using the provided sprites, a fan-made recreation of the hack was made and released online, which provides a basic idea of what the original hack was like.

To play this ROM, you need to have an emulator installed on your computer.
